Well if we're considering the needs of the cannibals it should probably be a variety right? I'm sure they have different flavors.

From my admittedly limited knowledge of meat, I'd suggest looking for the most muscular feminists, free from disease, as I think they'd be tastiest.

Whole milk is 4%, so each variant is half the fat of the previous - all neat and tidy.

Huh. You learn something new every day!

It's 4% because it's 4% milkfat. Skim milk has had all the fat skimmed off, and is what everyone drank until sometime in the 50s, I think, when homogenization became vogue. Heavy cream and whipping cream are all the milkfat that is skimmed off the top (as well as cheese and yogurt and other dairy products... almost all come from the skimmed off fat).

They have to have some padding, because a steak with no fat is not a very flavorful steak at all.

By no means.  "Normal" milk had all its fat, but not homogenised, so you could either pour the cream off the top or shake the bottle to blend them.  I guess the skimmed milk left from butter production mainly went into powdered milk or as ingredients in other manufactured foods.  You could also get skimmed and semi-skimmed milk in bottles, but that wasn't as prevalent a taste then as now.

When I worked as a docent we always skimmed it and made butter or homestyle cheese with it. I was given to understand that this was a pretty typical process, and that the rest of the milk was then drunk, or at least cooked with. I have never heard of "shaking it up", because that seems like it wouldn't stay in solution very long, and/or would make the butter take foreeeeeeeeever to coalesce. Huh.

Edit: Perhaps it was a local thing? The southern US is a much warmer place than the UK, so maybe it had something to do with ambient temperatures and the rate at which things spoil (and maybe that works inversely to how my brain thinks it should, because I don't know these things)

There used to be a law in Wisconsin that purchasing oleo margarine was considered illegal. People in Milwaukee and counties in the southern portion of the state made "oleo runs" down the main highways of the time (US 41, 12, 51, etc.) to stores just across the border into Illinois to buy margarine.

If you mix equal parts whole milk and 2%, you get 3%.

We drink 1%.  I've seen 1/2% around here, too.  For those who just can't let go...

I think a lot of skim milk, before it became popular, was dried and sold as powdered milk, and made into formula.

Then there's half & half.  It's about 50% (half milk, half straight cream).  We keep a small container for my daughter's coffee (the one with trouble eating - she gets all the calories she can any way she can).

Needed whole milk for a rice pudding recipe - mixed the 1% we keep with a little half and half.  I forget the proportions (I actually used the classic mixing problem from high school algebra to figure it out), but it worked beautifully!

I have thought way too much about this.

Here the default is 1.5% and 3.5%.

Assuming half and half has 50%, you need to solve x+y=1 and 0.01x+0.50y=0.04 <=>x+50y=4.

It follows that 49y=3 <=> y = 3/49.
Since x+y=1, x=46/49.

It's actually less, though IIRC.  It came out to be something like 5 oz (between 1/4 and 1/3 cup) half and half with the balance 1% to get a cup of whole milk.

Edit: it's about 12%.

I think families with children should be taxed more then single people. A tax fee per child should be assessed against them.

I'm not a mod and I'm not really qualified to comment (those who are have 'global moderator' above their username), but I believe the real issue folks are taking with that statement is that "feminist" is too broad a term for comfort when we're discussing killing folks off. That and your postcount is low, which means you're new here. Welcome, but please read some of the forum FAQs. There's a pretty large handful of folks around here of both sexes who identify as feminists (that is to say, they agree with the ideal of equality of the sexes) and probably wouldn't take kindly to being fed to folks.

If you're talking about ultra-radical feminists, or ultra-radical anythings for that matter, I'm all for feeding em to folks. If someone's point of view is so extreme as to be close-minded and militant, then by all means, chow down.

I have a ton of European and leftie type friends, So I constantly feel like I'm the most conservative human being on Earth. Then I talk to ACTUAL conservatives.

Compared to most North Carolina democrats, I'm so liberal that I sometimes wonder if the Socialist Party is right for me.
The socialist party is never right! It's usually left.

From what I understand left is right over there.

No seriously. The "left/right" political spectrum is reversed across the pond. Belay that, it might be just Russia... not sure.

Of course a Republican over in Europe means a sensible fellow, lass or other who has come to the logical conclusion that the best place for a crown is on head... that has been recently removed from it's shoulders.

There are republicans here, in the Netherlands. They get pointed and laughed at.

No they don't, they get hauled off by the police at royal ceremonies.

I just got the image of a midwife and a woman giving birth swinging towards each other on a trapeze - when they meet, the midwife pulls the baby out. The knife juggler is standing on the floor and cuts the umbilical cord with a a knifethrow.
