Interesting - I think that definition is wrong personally, the word gravid is used to mean pregnant when applied to humans in English too. At least, on my course we talk about the gravid uterus, and primigravida, multigravida etc. Yes, it's a specialist term, but that doesn't stop it counting!
Is it weird that I can totally imagine 'gravid' being used as slang, like 'gnarly'?

Finding Nemo's trailers warned of mild peril. MILD.

I watched Evil Dead 2 on DVD the other week and it had a warning about the violence on the DVD. Like I selected play and it said 'WARNING THIS MOVIE IS VERY VIOLENT AND MAY DISTURB SOME VIEWERS'. You fucking serious? I already bought the DVD, who is there buying an 18 rated movie called Evil Dead 2 with a list of how fucked up it is next to the certificate and then thinking 'oh it may disturb me? Better not then.'

(combobreaker)

I have an easter egg in my signature.

Co-incidentally, being able to put hidden stuff into code is one of the reasons why I love coding so much. I had to design a login screen for a major uni project once, and it worked no problem, the only exception being that if you put in any of the names of our grading assistants, the program would terminate. It was a fun joke until I realized that we failed the course because the assistants thought we had failed to implement the authentication system. That backfired badly.

I once named my variables specifically so at one point in the program it would say functioncall(allyour, base, arebelong, tous). Not very creative but I still got my fair share of amusement out of it.

So. The office has entered into a pool to try to win the Mega Millions jackpot. In the event of my winning, I will be expecting each of you to give me tours around your home towns. Jackets are required for gentlemen who wear suits and ladies who wear suits, if you're a dress wearing individual, please select suitable full length evening attire.

I may or may not be kidding about the dress code.

I do in fact know the first three things I'd do with the money though. Write two checks and set up an international wire transfer to completely change the lives of three people I care about very much. Then pick out my three favorite charities and get my name on the wall somewhere.

THEN I am going to the fuck mothering gun store baby!

For one of my exercise sheets I had to create a contextfree grammar for exercise sheets. I managed to get "(B,A,T,H),(d,e,a,t,h)" as a result. And the naming even made sense.

In one of my first exercise sheets for programming course, back in my first semester, I named a variable that was counting upwards ThisGoesUp, one that was counting downwards ThisGoesDown and the constant ThisAlwaysStaysTheFuckingSame. My tutor found it really funny and gave me an extra point.

Also Garand, I'd be glad to give you a tour of the town! Just be sure to announce your visit early, I'll have to get my suit from my parent's place. And buy more booze. Lots of booze.

I don't know about booze, I'm not much of a drinker, but I could definitely stock up on cigars if you came here.

And I wouldn't even need to get my suit. It's here, with me.

But the best part of cold season is snow! Otherwise you're just suffering zero average temperatures for nothing. That being said, I live on a pretty humid place that feels a lot colder than it is, and yet despite this, no one owns a functional jacket. Coats are just a fashion statement here

Method, Colorado would suit you nicely out on the plains. It's an Alpine desert so precipitation is minimal.

You're supposed to guess the price of an item, which is between $1 and $1000, and if you're wrong, you're told whether your guess was above or below the price. So the optimum strategy is binary search: start with $500, if it's higher guess $750, and so on... When I watched it today, the guy found out the price was between $700 and $750, so he started guessing 701, 702, 703, 704, so on. The price was $746.

Curiously, I was working on a script today which required me to implement binary search. I half-assed it. (I was doing it in bash, and after I finally partially got it to work (bash is awful), I was too frustrated to finish it properly. Now my search has a runtime of roughly 2.5*log n or so.)

If would have taken me ten guesses. The frustrating part is I would've guessed $747, then $745, and THEN $746.

Yeah, that's why when the players are within $5, they usually just bark out the last few numbers as fast as they can. This guy tried to do it when he was only within $50...

Oh wait, are there unlimited guesses? It's only time? That's awesome! I'd estimate so it'd take more than 10 guesses, but not much more, and I'd be able to get it easy.

Yeah, that's why it's so painful to watch. You get 60 seconds (unlimited guesses) to guess the prices of two prizes, so it's 30 seconds per prize. If you can get it in 10 guesses, that's three seconds per guess.
