For a while now, Hannelore has reminded me of a (now-former) co-worker: Blonde, tall and scrawny, fussy, cute in some undefinably scary way, devoted, smart but not fully-developed in the discretion department, naive but with some sense of (other-)worldliness and, yes, apt to blurt out the strangest damn thing for no reason that is immediately apparent or logical.

"Marigold touched a wiener!" pretty much cemented the resemblance.

And the lady I'm thinking of wasn't even the strangest person at the place where I used to work.

Then again, while Marten and Marigold have never been in space before and would be excited about weightlessness, lasers, space ham and so on, it's all old hat to Hanners, so she's going to be excited about something that's never been seen before, right?
