I just see it as a variation of crossing her arms. Or maybe she has goosebumps. I dunno.

Yeah, just another way to cross arms, especially if she's cold which is quite possible in a tanktop. The only body language I get from it is sort of trying to protect herself, which comes across a bit in the last panel.

She'll be redeemed in the final feature after an epic battle (likely using the Malaysian Battle Spatula and the new War Ladle).

The prequels will be forgetable, but the cartoons'll be decent.
