Yeah, it's the same girl.. .we actually first saw her during Jim's date with Dora.

Edit: While you were posting someone said exactly what you said. Going to leave it so I can get thread notifications

Edit2: Actually, mustang6172, she pretty much proved herself incapable of doing that back in 1957... even though we're up to comic 2176, not much time has advanced in-strip so that fire extinguisher scene is probably very fresh in Jim's mind.

mustang6172:
That was a stove she set on fire, and she was too young to be using that.  A microwave only requires one button to be pushed.

Near Lurker:
Setting the stove on fire is the only way to learn how not to set the stove on fire.  It's like playing poker for real money.

Akima:
From poo-larva to pool of lava (molten metal anyway) in two strip panels.

--- Quote from: mustang6172 on 29 Apr 2012, 22:26 ---How old is Sam?  10?
--- End quote ---
She's supposed to be thirteen! At that age I, and I suspect many other 13-year-olds, could cook simple meals without burning the kitchen down, but Sam apparently suffers from infantilisation...

iduguphergrave:
Infantilization's a little much, she just seems to be lacking in common sense, which has been known to happen to 13-year olds. This girl jumped down a cliff to catch a snake, people.
