My niece enjoyed the benefits:
Tips! lots of tips! Then she got a job she enjoys. It just took a few years to get 'em all.

And she's making more money than me now, mainly because I'm studying full-time and working part-time while she's studying part-time and working full-time. (Trust me, when drunk, never bet you can study a second engineering degree. If I graduate, I'll win about ten thousand dollars; if I don't, I lose them)

You learn a skill; then, perhaps, enjoy the final product or change it for other products or services.

I suspect that somewhere between Thursday's knife-sharpening and Dad's arrival, Sam mentioned something to Faye that "dad's probably not gonna like all this stuff you've shown me."

And Faye, being Faye, asked, "Hm. Does he like a certain kind of drink?"

"Well, he's always saying he likes something called an 'Old-Fashioned'."

"Hey, that's an easy one...."

The demonstrated ability to pacify an angry father with a well mixed drink is a pretty good benefit I'd think.
