Oh definitely. Poutine is amazing. More amazing than even spathe ham I'd presume.

The only thing more amazing would be spathe poutine!

Touché.  The point still stand.

--- Quote from: Akima on 29 Apr 2012, 23:46 ---She's supposed to be thirteen! At that age I, and I suspect many other 13-year-olds, could cook simple meals without burning the kitchen down, but Sam apparently suffers from infantilisation...

--- End quote ---

My 7 yo (girl) would be just fine if we left her alone at home for a date. My 10 yo (boy), not so much. There are teenagers older than Sam who I wouldn't turn my back on, much less my house over to.

All kids/young humans/adolescents are different--as a parent you have to use your judgement and assess the risk of a given situation.

Jim's got empirical evidence on his side for this decision...infantilism or not, he's got history to back him up.

Besides, as a plot device I think this Faye/Sam thing is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

It could have been a malfunction of the toaster, as in the self-timer not functioning like it should. I haven't met a toaster yet that would stay on indefinitely on any setting. Unless it was a toaster over, which is a different matter entirely.

She said it was because she is bad at making toast. I took this to be a comment on her being a kitchen hazard in general.
