Milesb:
Faye got the MUMMY vibes on the go.

Watch out Angus!

FunkyTuba:

--- Quote from: iduguphergrave on 11 May 2012, 14:57 ---The way Faye seems compelled to teach Sam things and that there's been so much focus on their interactions leads me to think Faye's going to learn something significant from this new relationship. Curious to see where this goes.

--- End quote ---

yeah, I think it's going to be a sudden blindsiding epiphany of some sort that shakes her footing

--- Quote from: Wright on 11 May 2012, 11:05 ---Vascetomies were in Penny Arcade too. It is better handled here, but still hugely exaggerated. From my experience, it was two weeks of discomfort followed by years of the best sex.

Welcome Wright!

If you do an archive crawl on Jeph's twitter account, you'll see  that a while back he sent out a series of tweets about his own complications. He's definitely projecting them onto Jim but I doubt Jeph's trying to say that *all* vasectomies are like that :D (I hope not, anyway)

Akima:

--- Quote from: techkid on 11 May 2012, 04:33 ---Ah yes... the Standard Creepiness Rule...
--- End quote ---
Given that the creepiness is socially constructed, I thought its original formulation lacked a gender factor. I don't think the reaction to a 50 year old woman dating a 32 year old man would be the same as that to the same age gap where the genders were reversed.

Omega Entity:

--- Quote from: Wright on 11 May 2012, 11:05 ---Vascetomies were in Penny Arcade too. It is better handled here, but still hugely exaggerated. From my experience, it was two weeks of discomfort followed by years of the best sex. There do need to be other forms of male contraception, though. I wish there had been options.

--- End quote ---

Oh, but there is! Or will be, that is: http://contraception.about.com/b/2009/05/21/male-birth-control-injections.htm

Lasts for 10 years, and completely reversible.

Redball:
Had my vasectomy when I turned 40 and our only child was five. I don't recall sizzle or smell, or discomfort for more than a day. But another recollection: My vasectomy was at Planned Parenthood in downtown Detroit. My wife taught school nearby. We lived in a near suburb. I worked in another suburb a little farther out. A coworker who got his vasectomy at PP about the same time lived even farther out. It made sense for my wife to drive both our required sperm(less) samples downtown on her way to school. The first was no problem; the coworker stopped by our house on his way to work, my wife left with both samples. But on the second one, there was a hitch: He was late. It was 7 a.m. Clara needed to leave. We saw his car turn the corner onto our street of homes on 40-foot lots, drive halfway down, pull over and stop at the curb. It remained for a minute or so, then started up. Jesse got out of the car, handed Clara the sample. She took off with his and mine. She told me his was still warm.
I've told this story recently. Hope it wasn't on this forum. Stop me if you've heard it before.

And if Faye strikes up an ongoing relationship with Sam, how can it not be connected with maternal instincts? That could take her in an interesting new direction, and not just with Samantha. But I'm still trying to comprehend (relation-)shipping, so forgive me if I don't have it down just right.
