--- Quote from: iduguphergrave on 10 May 2012, 13:54 ---I'm guessing Faye thought she's be able to easily break out of it since Sam's a kid.

Faye's last thoughts: The Force is strong with this one.

--- End quote ---

It was only her destiny as the chosen one to be trained in the ways of the CoD barristas though she was raised to become one with the Secret Bakery.

Is it cold in here?:
Yes, Jim said Sam is thirteen. If we assume she's something like 12.9 and that Jim was rounding up, then we don't have to resort to the hypothesis that QC is a work of fiction and that the author isn't 100% consistent.

Method of Madness:
I'm pretty sure the only in-comic reference to her age listed her as 13. If that's the case, then she's 13.

--- Quote from: NotAwesomeAnymore on 10 May 2012, 03:51 ---I feel like today's comic shows a facet of Dora's control issues again. Jim wanted to not share something (yet) with Dora which would possibly have been slightly hurtful to most people. When Dora finds out, she puts on this "I'm sane and rational and totally cool about it" show, but her motive is actually to stop Jim keeping stuff from her. It's not that Dora necessarily wants control over what Jim does (or she is aware that that's ridiculous), but having as much knowledge as possible gives her the same feeling of being in charge of her situation.

--- End quote ---

I was going to post something along these lines, but you pretty much encapsulated it. She just has this knack for subtle reverse manipulation that allows her to keep deniability while still exerting control. By couching it in reasonableness ("You don't have to do it behind my back") she's able to convince herself that she's not being controlling ("I wasn't telling him what to do... I was telling him what *not* to do").
