Harry Potter
Redball:
I pre-ordered the last 3 or 4 books. They were delivered on "opening day."
DudeReadThis:
I didn't read the series until early this year, and I was very surprised on how much I really enjoyed the series. I really enjoyed Rowling's writing style, not overly descriptive, but gives you enough detail so you know what is going on. Obviously there were things that had to be cut from the books for the movies, but I felt the movies still were true to the series.
Happy reading!

--- Quote from: TheFuriousWombat on 14 Jul 2012, 09:59 ---Those prices are absurd! Does anyone actually buy them at that rate?? Most of the First eds. I have are the American versions - so surely worth less - but I DO have Prisoner of Azkaban in the British version. Maybe it's worth more than I thought...
EDIT: NEVERMIND. Just looked. $7.99.

The First Edition of the British version was a very limited run - only 500 were printed, and as such, it's worth flipping great wodges of cash. http://www.catchthesnitch.com/books/first_editions/
MajorBedhead:
I loved the books. Loved, loved, loved them. They are escapism, pure and simple. They're also a lovely story of friendship and loyalty and bravery. And magic. But mostly friendship.
riccostar:
Absolutely fantastic. They are an amazing combination of a wonderful story and captivating writing.
