I don't know who the other character is, but the kitty is not Luna for sure.
Luna has a yellow crescent moon on her forehead, never wore a red scarf (yellow ribbon yes however) and Luna is much more round ish than triangular ish.

Um, does everyone post without even reading the few preceding posts? Here you will find the names of the characters, and a link to the Wikipedia article on them.
Reading a few other posts seems a fair exchange for expecting your own to be read!
