The twist at the end of the comic is that it turns out Northampton was built on a small, rather unambitious Hellmouth.

I always read that one as 'Let me show you the kitchen (to illustrate exactly -why- we want no witchcraft tomfoolery)'.

The divergence of interpretations in this forum never ceases to fascinate me. That interpretation had not even occurred to me.

And people get surprised when a member of the cast fails to see things that they think is obvious. Ha!
