Throg:
Okay, so a lot of people can't relate to Marten being quite so chill and passive. I agree with that 100%, and apparently even the creator thinks Marten has pathologic passivity with a lot of things in his life.

But in the character's defense, we do see Marten quite active in one respect: standing up for his friends. Both taking on VespAvenger (granted, pretty ineffectual: swingandamiss the first time, nut-shot'd out of action the second time) but also standing up for Hannelore in the face of a creeper Clinton.

= = =

And about Friday's comic: something about the pacing is very, very Azumanga-esque. Me likey.

Boxilar:
Well, Momo could just shock the hell out of Emily to get her to quit since she can "knock a man out of his socks". That she hasn't here, and didn't when Hannelore was squeaking her skin, shows that on some level she likes the attention.

I'm with PWHodges, The Dora/Tai thing will probably be like a Roman candle. Lots of fun for a little while with a big explosion at the end.

Also Faye's comment in 2247 that "I've been doing it wrong," may be technically accurate, but she's certainly been on the recieving end of such a kiss.

nixiebunny:
Did anyone else notice that the button-pressing frame of the purple hair is missing the right side of Momo's skirt and the bottom of Momo's hand?

(click to show/hide)It's not just the hair on Momo's head that changes color.

We don't know for sure if her new chassis includes hair in the armpits, do we?

WAYF:
^Brilliant.

Hey, that was the first strip I ever read. Thanks for reminding me! ;D

I think the problem I'm having with people saying that he must have an ulterior motive is that I don't think we've ever seen Marten NOT being completely up-front with people about his feelings. As to Is It Cold In Here's example, he DID admit that it would be a lot harder to stomach if he hadn't been with Dora at that point, and even during the legendary talk, he admitted more or less that he wasn't entirely over Faye and was more than a little disappointed with the outcome, BUT he was still open about it. No hidden agendas to be found.

Please, someone correct me if they find a counter-example.
