I have to agree that they both look like they're trying too hard, but I think things could have worked if they made minor changes-
Dora: take off the tights and add a sleeve.
Tai- shorten the hem and unbutton a few buttons. A different color wouldn't hurt either.
Granted, Tai definitely looks the most out of character. Makes me wonder what reasoning she had for getting extra girlied up if obviously Dora is into her when she's wearing plaid and cutoffs. IMO, we're used to a little bit of gothi-ness from Dora, she just ODed a bit today.

The police have been informed of the discovery of a body near the Coffee of Doom. The body was believed to be a local goth, although it is uncertain because their clothes were stolen. The cops have said they'll investigate as soon as they finish the slab of beer in the backseat.

Dora left her goth phase behind her long ago, so it seems a bit bizarre to me that she'd get all gothed up for her date with Tai. Did Tai even know her when she was still Spooky Pants?
I'm in agreeance with the idea that they're both trying too hard, but I don't understand the choice of clothes that either of them has made.

Y'know i dunno what Jeph's intention was but Tai had to at least be kidding with what she was wearing, unless she wanted to hammer it home dora was going out with a girl.

Maybe the logic was that Dora has not-so-good luck with the gentlemen, so Tai wanted to girl it up as much as possible?
*grasps at straws*
....either way, I'm glad they both saw the silliness in what they were doing.
