I think pretty much everyone in America (other than the reptilian corporate overlords and their immediate lickspittles) agrees that the system is utterly broken and worthless...the reason thing aren't changing is pretty much that there's no alternative other than bloodshed in the streets, which would quickly turn into martial law and the removal of what little largely-cosmetic freedom we now have.  I've long felt the desire to cry out for bloody retribution and the toppling of ivory towers, but ultimately any such activity is only going to make things worse.  We have become a nation of spineless couch potatoes, and the best thing we can do is just sort of quietly accept our increasing irrelevance and hope things don't get too much worse, while Japan and China and India gradually assume the status of world powers which we've willfully abdicated.

Pilchard123:
I'm pretty sure that Terry Pratchett once said or wrote something along the lines of "Revolution doesn't bring change, it just leaves a bloody mess all over the place."

He did, however write "And so the children of the revolution were faced with the age-old problem: it wasn't that you had the wrong kind of government, which was obvious, but that you had the wrong kind of people. As soon as you saw people as things to be measured, they didn't measure up."

no one special:
Awwww, Jeph said the comic was gonna be dark.  I was hoping it was gonna be a twisted and morbid abomination, but instead it was just slightly misguided truth.

Still, an enjoyable comic.

My comment wasn't aimed at you, but was just a general reminder in response to Torlek's comment (which you had also responded to).

Well, to "the establishment" what Yelling Bird uttered would be considered an obscenity for being pretty damn accurate.
