Whilst I'm all for taking care of your health (both in giving up smoking, and in recognising the need for a day off), the suspense is rather uncomfortable. I cannot think of an explanation that makes any sense.

There's your problem; assuming the explanation has to make sense. There's no actual reason it has to; even basic physics is a bit fluid in QCland.

It's not exactly an appeal really, or at least the smoke itself isn't at first, but once you've got past the choking and coughing stage as your lungs and throat vainly try to warn you that this shit is terrible the addiction is already starting to set in…
