I know I do. Never liked the sensation of having one side dry (relatively) and the other wet.

Same here. I must have annoyed people at the pool by always weaving around their legs as I swam lengths underwater. Certainly there must have been a few faces like Marten's in Panel 2.
Oh, and if I was with friends, maybe a few like Panel 3.

I mostly end up freaking out the lifeguards by just disappearing in the deep end rather than actually swimming. I ought to see if I can't find a waterproof ebook reader….

--- Quote from: JRDelirio on 24 Oct 2012, 06:14 ---We know from Steve that the depth at that point is enough for an adult to stand on the bottom with head above water, so in the last panel Marten's standing on the bottom and pulling her up. BUT Momo's not THAT short... if she was able to stably walk upright on the bottom with the water completely covering her head far enough so no floating hair gives her away, Marten would have had to be free-floating above, and noodle or no noodle he would not be able to just lift her with his arm, but rather he'd have been dragged under.

Well, all we need is a height comparison with Momo and Steve.
This strip has a good comparison height between Marten and Momo. But then again, with that comparison, how could Marten pull Momo out of the water like that given her height, depth of water, and weight?
Is it cold in here?:
She doesn't have much volume: even being denser than a human, she might not weigh enough for a healthy adult to lift.
But this is Marten we're talking about, who can't even hold up Hannelore.
If she were physically strong enough she could keep herself above water.
