Sometimes, you're somewhat uncomfortable with something, though you know that there'd really be no harm in doing it. So you refuse, knowing that the people around you will convince you to do it anyway. The attention is refreshing, especially if you're usually the type to intentionally blend in with the crowd. If you do it too much, however, you can come across as an attention whore.

Introverted personalities can be like that sometimes. They put themselves down to see if someone there will pick them up.
Some people like to think that they're "all that", Marigold puts herself as... nothing much, really.
Yeah, I've been there and done that. And still do sometimes. Headcases, eh?

Two things:
1. Marten wasn't the only one who received an invitation to the party. Claire did as well. She probably didn't have anyone else to invite, so she invited her brother. Of course, it might be that she can't drive, so Clinton had to take her.
2. This bikini is either going to look awesome on her or is going to be ridiculous.
