Method of Madness:
Yeah...some of their work is still funny though.

Thrillho:
A lot of their work is incredibly funny, and parts of it have even influenced my every day speech (I've lost count of how many times I've ended an anecdote with 'then he called me a pissant and hung up'). I was an avid reader of their comic for well over a decade, and some days I do miss it. But we aren't talking about a dead musician who turned out to be cruel in his personal life after already becoming critically respected. We're talking about living, still-active guys who have invested their money in covering up occurrences of sexual assault at their conventions.

Blyss:
Okay, that's a new one on me.  When did that happen?  And to be clear (because the internet can be unclear) I'm asking with genuine curiosity and not skepticism.

maxusy3k:
I think a Google of "PAX Controversy" will probably give you more than enough material, from various different years.

Off the top of my head is the "Dickwolves" controversy which;

(click to show/hide) I am probably going to only get the basic gist of it but was a scenario in which PA created some merchandise, themed after a strip, which some people felt bordered on rape encouragement or at the very least cast rape in a not negative light. PA subsequently pulled the merchandise after these complaints. Later, at PAX (2013 or 2012 iirc) Mike announced that pulling the Dickwolves merch was one of his biggest regrets, to be met with raucous cheering and applause. A number of people there (much of the outcry was from female journalists as well as rape victims) said the response and the encouragement the response got from Mike made them feel - understandably - incredibly uncomfortable as well as unsafe.

Masterpiece:
And, just to make both sides clear:

The apology that followed.
