THE BACON NUMBER!

This sounds like a bastard child of the Erdös number -game that got started among mathematicians a few decades ago. It uses coauthorship of scientific articles as a hop. Erdös is something like the modern era Chuck Norris of math. My own Erdös number is three, and that's all I care about :-D

I appeared in the background of Mr. 3000 with Bernie Mac.
Bernie Mac and Billy Bob Thornton appeared in Bad Santa.
Billy Bob Thornton and Kevin Bacon appeared in Jayne Mansfield's Car.

Miguel Ferrer has a Bacon Number of two, which surprises me considering the nature of the roles that connect them.
Ferrer was part of the voice cast for Justice League: New Frontier which has a LOT of big actors in it, Kyra Sedgwick among them, who was in an installment of PBS' American Playhouse series called "Lemon Sky" in 1988, which featured none other than Kevin Bacon.

I found this a while ago, and the highest I could get was Chris Jericho, who's a wrestler who has been in some shitty straight-to-DVD movies.

Apparently there is the even rarer Erdös-Bacon number of people who can count out both ways.
