I think it would totally make sense for Pintsize to be a special case, explicitly specified in legislation.

I can see the entry in the legal books now.

--- Quote ---Clause 215, Section III: An AI shall not be turned off without consent.
Subsection A: Except for military AI whose roles require signed agreements stating otherwise.
Subsection B: Also the AI known as "Pintsize", because that dude is a crazy pervert.
Subsection C: Unless it is not a 'technical or 'legitimate' shutdown.
--- End quote ---
(actual speakers of legalese, please don't flay me.)

I wonder what our attitude to Pintsize would be if his chassis was more humaniform?

How has our attitude towards Momo been shaped by her appearance?

I'm acutely aware of how attitudes are affected by physical appearance, even though logically they shouldn't be.

I'm also aware that this is a comic, but the author obviously is exploring deep issues, and I may not be over-analysing.

Generally speaking, the more human something appears, the more responsible we hold it for its actions.

If Pintsize were more anthropomorphic his antics would probably be less tolerated.

Momo would probably be viewed about the same if her chibi form looked less human, but it wasn't just the new chassis that led to her getting a job and going out and doing all that human stuff she suddenly started doing. People treat her with more respect; no more peeking up her skirt, for instance.

I think we'd all be calling him Grand Über-Douche Supreme...but in his current form, he's just adorable.
