I'm not sure I've ever read anything more accurate. I got my first cell phone when I was sixteen and the only reason I got it then was because payphones had begun disappearing and I needed a way to call my parents when I needed a ride. Now, at 25 I can't help but wonder how people ever got along without them. I mean, there's been so many times I've used mine because my car broke down, or I had an accident, or got stuck in a ditch (I have really bad luck with cars), and having a cell phone made things just, well not quite as terrible. I didn't hop on the smart phone band wagon until about two years ago when my flip-phone of over six years broke in half. And I could live without my droid, but it's so convenient.

The Hubby and I don't own cell phones. We get along just fine. We've had car troubles and such, just like everyone, but the universe seems to like us. It's always been something we could fix on our own (we always kept tools in the trunk) or someone would stop and help us out.
We used to have cell phones, but it was too expensive for the use we got out of them. Since getting rid of them we've had the pleasure of noticing that the world is a much friendlier place than we originally thought. It's been nice.

I can see the phone in Dora's hand in panel two, you can see the shape of her palm obscuring the majority of it.

Holding it that way, though, would mean Jim wouldn't be hearing her very well.

--- Quote from: Sidhekin on 19 Dec 2012, 08:52 ---So, what I'm left wondering ... how'd the raccoon fare?
--- End quote ---
He ran out the door faster than Faye could catch him, went on his merry way, and eventually started up his own coffee shop. Unfortunately, the health inspector had a slight mishap during a routine inspection, saw an employee rat that was helping to grind beans, mistook it for an infestation, and shut the place down. The raccoon (we'll call him Barry) decided that perhaps the barista business wasn't his niche, so he went on to work as a bus driver for the MTBA. He earned acclaim for his excellent driving record, and went on to become a CDL instructor for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Along the way, he fell in love with a tanuki named Francine, and before long they were engaged. Not long after the honeymoon they tried to start a family, but doctors informed them that Francine was infertile, which broke their little hearts. They persevered, though, and with the help of artificial insemination and a surrogate badger named Susan, they will be expecting their first little bundle of joy within the next few weeks.
