Yeah, tornadoes creep me out, too. I grew up in Maryland, which gets very few tornadoes, but an F4 went through my hometown in 1998. The people around here are more accustomed to it and less likely to worry, but to some extent that's a bad thing. It makes people less likely to get to cover when a tornado happens.

To give everyone who hasn't checked them out an idea, you can usually see the path a tornado takes through a town. In this case, this isn't a path so much as just a flattened town.

My room in the new place has a lovely huge window and it means when it rains I can see it so perfectly. It's only raining on gardens and suburban homes and trees, but for some reason I just love this view.

80+ F for two days (pushing 30C), now it's about 45 F (7 C) with storms threatening but not arriving.  Should be 60's F (low 20's C) and sunny for the holiday weekend.  Which is good, since my daughter planned a big cookout...
