Barmymoo:
We had snow on Tuesday - only for about thirty seconds but it was there.

The Seldom Killer:
Sheffield had snow yesterday.
Obviously it weren't proper snow what like we had when I were a lad but aye snow nonetheless.

Barmymoo:
Oh dear, don't say things like that. I'm going camping in Edale this weekend and really really don't want the trains to be delayed.

It drives me insane when the announcement is "We apologise that the x.xx train to [location] is delayed due to slippery rail conditions". It's England. It's November. It is definitely going to rain.

The Seldom Killer:
The snow didn't actually last the night and the low ground will be clear again. I reckon trains will be fine in the valley. It's been a bit nippy here though and it may be a bit icy up on the tops. I've not been out in the Peaks for a few weeks though so I'm not certain. Skiddaw and Ben Cawthra up in the Lakes were snow capped a couple of weekends ago which was a very pretty.

Of course if you do get stuck, feel free to give us a shout. Also, if you're found waiting a bit in Sheffield (presuming you're coming through here) The Sheffield Tap at the station is one of the finest station pubs in the country.

You're forgetting.  It's autumn, so the problem is not the rain, but the wrong sort of leaves.
