I think you just described Seinfeld

If it ends with them all in jail for having their heads too far up their own asses, all good.
Back when Seinfeld was still new, a co-worker tried to sell me on the show by saying, "Every one of those characters is like someone in this office." I said that was the opposite of a selling point.

"But don't you go home every night wishing you had a show to watch that would remind you of your crappy job here at Initech?"

--- Quote from: cesium133 on 02 Feb 2013, 20:33 ---This thread caused me to remember to check Windows Media Center to check how many Big Bang Theory episodes it has recorded that I never got around to watching. I found out that at some point CBS set a no-record flag on the broadcast, so Media Center hasn't recorded any episodes this season. I guess CBS thinks that will make me leave work early to watch it live, or buy the DVD. They would be wrong; I'd rather just not watch it.

I wonder how they are able/allowed to do that and why it doesn't stop DVRs from recording it.

They can set a "no-record" flag in the digital signal that tells DVRs not to record it, but it's up to the particular implementation whether to pay attention to the flag. For some reason Windows Media Center does, though as far as I know no other DVR does. In any event, I got MythTV working again, so I switched back to that. Still not going to bother watching Big Bang Theory, though.
Method of Madness:
There's probably a way to get it to ignore the flag.
