I still read it, but I'm not sure why, to be honest. The story has been so long and drawn out now, and it's so long between updates, that I'm forgetting what the characters are even trying to achieve. The jokes are getting a little stale by now as well.

He's admitted that the last book is going to be the size of a phone book. He's kinda written himself into a few corners with the whole "Defeat Xykon/defeat the Snarl/Save the world" thing.

It does seem like there is padding at points. It sounds like there is a lot of it right now (I'm not up to date though). Sometimes you need to just get to the quick and finish the story being told.

The need to end each comic with a funny draws the exposition out even further.
His core audience seems to be loving it, though, and it means more book sales, so there's no reason to cut to the chase I suppose.
