The Make-Up Thread: Because we all like to feel pretty sometimes

Aethien:
Yeah, being trans probably complicates the whole thing. Or get you looks anyway. I can't say I've ever seen someone at the place I usually go to who was trans but then again, I'd probably be oblivious to it until it's pointed out to me.

nekowafer:
Nah I'm nervous in those situations, too. I'm still nervous being naked in front of people who have seen me naked and assured me they enjoyed the experience.

My mother, however, had no such problems. Half my childhood friends saw her naked at one time or another.

Aethien:
I'm genuinely curious, why are you uncomfortable naked?

I've known nothing but being comfortable naked and it's hard to understand to me while people would be uncomfortable being naked around others in a social situation where that's accepted. Aside from being trans of course because you're quite different from what people expect (although I personally wouldn't mind at all).

Zingoleb:
you don't have to be trans* to experience discomfort with your body.

de_la_Nae:
To paraphrase Patrick O'Leary's book "The Gift", I'd say much of the time someone got a story in their head that was wrong, from someone they trusted, someone they needed.
