Calling the dibs on a QC avatar?

It would just seem a bit presumptuous to feel I could associate myself with a character, in an environment where there are a lot of people who feel that they know how that character should behave, and for that matter the author, whose opinion is pretty much definitive by definition.

I'd feel uncomfortable doing it.

I disagree on two levels. I don't think my avatar represents me at all, I just like it. And I wouldn't say that the author's view on how a character should behave is necessarily definitive, only how a character does behave. Why would it take any less nerve to use a Pintsize avatar on the Qwantz forum and a T-Rex avatar here?

But mostly I'm curious how one associates themselves with a pair of sneakers.

And other times ... well, I notice her bottom after her face, unless I'm walking up behind her. Then, I often know who she is, but I think we've already had this conversation.
