You know you're old, when rather than finding all of your friends are getting married, you find that they're all getting divorced (or having affairs), and occasionally dying. :-(
I think Veronica's previous speech was better, but we were never going to see that in action, it would have just been repetition. Of course, there's plenty of time for her to get really hammered, and then do a more authentic slightly off script rendition. :-D

On a more serious note, I really liked Veronica here. It redeemed her a bit in my eyes from the whole "Marten Tiberius Reed! Apologize to your friends!" ordeal.

Yeah...though in some ways it only shows that she isn't a total bitch to everyone, just her son when he was at a low point. This does rehabilitate her, but the aforementioned incident still sticks in my craw.
