Method of Madness:
I wasn't saying the lack of face-to-face interaction made it easier for one side or the other, I just was wondering how such a huge part of the game being lost was compensated.

TheEvilDog:
If anything, the lack of face to face contact actually drives up the paranoia of the games. You can see little hints in a person's face, the subconscious movements their bodies make, and its those little things that can give someone away. Here though, all you have is what a person says. There are no subtle clues to tell you if they're lying. So facing that, you can become really paranoid, especially in games where several villagers have died and none of the killers have been touched.

Method of Madness:
I always assumed those subtle clues were the point (in that a good chunk of the fun is trying to read people to see if they're hiding something), but I suppose one's mileage/kilometrage* may vary.

*Probably not a word.

TheEvilDog:
Honestly, its best to take part in a game and see for yourself.

Method of Madness:
Ha, this whole conversation started because I wanted to and found out about it a day too late. I fully intend to partake in Mafia 7.
