Mini Painting!
GarandMarine:
I like it as a base blue. But I don't use ANYTHING Citadel any more except for Boltgun Metal (lead belcher or whatever they're calling it now) and their washes. Reaper or Vallejho is the way to go paint wise. I'd also strongly suggest Krylon spray primer over ANYTHING else. $4 a can and it's probably one of the best spray primers on the market.
My next project is painting up the game pieces for my copy of Firefly: The Game. I have the promo expansion "The Artful Dodger" as well as the base game, so I have five Firefly class ships to paint up including Serenity herself, a Reaver ship (blood splatters every where!) and an Alliance Cruiser.
I also need to finish my Katyusha MLRS units, and start painting my "Moments from History" minis. I have Rommel and Monty squaring off, and Musashi-Sensei in one of his famous duels. I also have another 40k Titan scale model I really need to get put together sooner rather then later... >.>; kinda been putting it off because it takes about eight hours of dedicated effort. Apparently the time to assemble drops by an hour + on your second one... I suppose I'll find out. I'm getting my new weapons arms in for both of my titans so I need to get the second one assembled so I can paint it and it's new guns at the same time.

Oh shit, this gorilla cyborg also has an eye patch. I want it to be my best friend.
Edit: Alright, I need to be up in the morning, so I'm taking a break for the night. I still need to do detail work, the weapons, a wash (which I'll have to wait on because I don't have any), highlighting and all that. These are taking a while, but I'm happy with how they're coming out thus far considering it's my first go at it.

Jace:
Here's a ship. Have seven more like it to paint. Weirdly I picked the American nation in this game but only because my flatmate already picked Britannia. Kind of wish I'd gone with France but at least I get some flying robots at some point. I painted the windows on the command tower in the middle of the ship after I took this picture. I'm kind of not trying very hard on these ones because they're so small that the details are generally lost from arm's length. On the cruisers and larger I'll probably put more detailing. That said, I still painted all the rivets.
Also wal mart brand color place spray paint is the best I've used, its like a dollar and dries pretty fast too which is super handy.
ackblom12:
Don't you know there's a no ship policy on this forum Jace?

GarandMarine:
That's only in the comic section of the forum! :parrot:
In other news, here's some stuff from a KS I backed, it's a big update so it's in spoilers. Holy shit I am excited to get these lovely ladies. There's some boob plate, and the jail birds are what they are (an odd mix of Girl power Rambo and punk rock chicks) but over all, holy fuck as a Sisters of Battle player this is about as close to the holy grail of multipart, multi pose plastic sisters as I'm gonna get.
(click to show/hide)New Update ... at last: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/loudnraging/raging-heroes-the-toughest-girls-of-the-galaxy/posts/625391
--- Quote ---Ahhhhhh... This is the update we've all been waiting for! Below, you'll find images of the Troop boxes for each of the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy army. This means: the Jailbird Troopers, the Kurganova Regular and the Kurganova Heavy Troopers, as well as the Iron Empire Regular and the Iron Empire Heavy Troopers.
The TGG images shown in this update are 3D renders that we have attempted to make as close to possible as to what the actual minis will be. We included some close-ups as well because we just couldn't resist.
There are 25 different sculpts, all of them fully multi-parts. This means that you'll of course get the dynamic poses we've designed for each of them. But in addition, thanks to our ball-joint assembly system, you'll be able to create an amazing number of variations for your Troops. Each miniature is made of one pair of legs, one torso, one head, and 2 separate arms (with the right arm holding the main weapon).
In each box, you'll find everything to make 5 miniatures equipped with a beam rifle. On top of that, you'll get 3 extra heads and 4 alternative weapons: one flamer, one grenade launcher, one shred sword, and one beam pistol. You'll also get many little accessories to attach to the Troopers' belts or pants: grenades, knives, etc.
This first set of 25 Troopers was extremely important for us as it allowed us to test many options on design, workflow, manufacturing, and so on... It has been a very instructive experience for the whole team that's allowing us to improve the entire operation. Many of you have encouraged us not to rush the process to insure the best possible quality for the sculpts. Well, it paid off. Case in point: every time we'd finish a new unit, we'd go back to the other ones that we thought were done and say: “Hmmmm, that won't do, we need to fix this and that...” And so, we did. This back-and-forth took some extra time, but I think you'll agree the results are there.
Mascots
We also promised you a few extras for this Update. Meet the 3 mascots: the Jailbirds' Harry the Hippo (who you've seen before), Charlie the Kurganovas' war bulldog, and Jinx, the Iron Empire's Aegyptian Cat. The 28 mm version of the mascots are part of the Freebies, but you can also get more of them as add-ons.
And you may recall that each mascot is also available in its larger version as an Add-on: the larger Harry will be about 40mm tall (1.6 inches), the larger Charlie will be about 45mm tall (1.8 inches), and the larger Jinx will be about 60mm tall (2.4 inches).
New Heroines
We'd also like to show you 3 new Heroine sculpts, one for each army: Katrina Zerga, Tank Stopper for the KST; Yoko the Psycho, Flamer for the Jailbirds; and Doctor von X, Medic for the Iron Empire.
