Moral or life-changing dilemmas (will Hanners stay in space?). Relationship drama. (The Talk. Dora-Marten breakup.)
Speaking of "bringing out", your avatar was showing L (from Death Note).

You could say he's not "handling" it, in the sense that he has given it any thought - he's doing what comes naturally, and it's the right thing, which is even better.

Quite agree.

I completely agree, with the addition of him giving it thought doesn't necessarily equate to him needing to 'handle' the situation. He could be giving thought to how to best respect Claire and his own comfort, without needing to figure out how to handle it.

Does clutching an anime body-pillow qualify as macho? I don't think it is the adjective I would choose...
Marten has very clear eyes for someone waking in the wee small hours after drinking heavily.
ZoeB:

"Here's the wife hur hur."
Making fun of guys who are lonely, and hug their pillows. Objectifying women too. The wink and the upraised glass in the pub would seem to support that, as well as the expression of the girl in the background.
