TheEvilDog:
Actually something that could be done could be assign character roles to everyone at the start of the game, as well as their game roles.
For example, Unicorn could be "Blacksmith" and still be a villager, while TRVA123 could be "Woodsman" but also serve as a killer. So for that particular game, they would refer to themselves as the blacksmith and the woodsman.
Certainly a lot less trouble than setting up dummy accounts.

Not really, why would people post using their real accounts? The point of using dummies would be to put aside all prejudices anyone has against you, so they would gain nothing and lose untold amounts by doing so (not to mention they'd be caught instantly).

That's what I was thinking of doing if I do a QC variant of the game... i.e. assign one player to be "Marten", another to be "Faye", etc. Every player would get a character role, and some of them would additionally have game roles.

TRVA123:
I would probably forget to switch between dummy and real account, and accidentally post with one or the other in a way that gives my identity away.

EvilDog, that is a fair idea, it would definitely help with roleplaying.

J:
i get the sense that some of us are taking the game a bit more seriously than others
