CrazyWelshy:
Is it a bit daft that I know less about local geography, as in British counties, compared to where the countries of the world are?  Or is that the same with others too?

Pilchard123:
Same here. I barely know my way around the town I've lived in for the past eighteen years.

BrusselSprouts:
I know European geography by heart and yet I'm still not sure howany provinces there are in Canada (10??) Or how they fit together.

GarandMarine:
We were the Eagles, and we did a spirited fight song that involved a violent chopping motion towards one's own neck. It was fairly brutal for high school sports. We got complaints from lesser spirited schools about it.

Good.

Hey! Found a video of the Opening Ceremony where the Freshmen are taught The Beak, then shouted down by the other classes.

cesium133:
The name of the school I went to was "Beall" (rhymes with "Hell"), so naturally we'd do a chant at football games that ended with "Give 'em hell, Beall". Never got any complaints from the other team, but the principal of the school hated it.

edit -- as for knowing nearby county names, I was a geography nerd in high school, so I memorized all the counties in Maryland (there aren't that many of them), but around here I only know the ones I need to know to understand tornado warnings. If the tornado is in Pottawatomie County, it's headed away from here. If it's in Cleveland County, it's here. If it's in McClain or Grady County, it's not here yet but moving in this direction.
