The latter statement is a meta gaming thing... has nae been on the mafia faction before? I honestly don't remember, but she might be pretty good at playing both sides similarly, which would void that line of reasoning (and make her a dangerous player).
The former argument is generally true, but it doesn't stop a Thing from doing the opposite thinking it will mask their status better. There were certain things about her craziness that made me a little ambivalent and throw my vote her way (plus I had no better ideas).

Thoughts like these is why I ALWAYS play a crazy character. That way people cannot tell whether I am evil or just crazy.

Swap crazy with unpredictable, and yes, I agree.
Lines:
Your reasons for playing crazy are why I usually don't. Same with not being overly aggressive. Draws too much attention, evil or not.
