(click to show/hide)Except he learned to manipulate time in about five minutes. He read a book on the Eye, opened it on his first try and then played with an apple for a few minutes. Very shortly after that he was involved in a battle for his life, that he nearly lost. Then he was rewinding time over several city blocks, breaking natural laws in the process. And set up a time loop powerful enough to contain a literal god in his own dimension.... He set up the looping time before he started to bargain with Dormammu. Not during the who knows how many times it repeated before Dormammu gave up. Not to mention the weakest point of why the Big D didn't just atomize Strange as soon as he broke the time loop spell and finish destroying the Earth.
