Nah, it's not actually that long in comparison to several other piercings. Keep in mind that nipples and cartilage piercings are 6 months to a year, usually leaning more towards a full year. Sometimes it can take as long as 18 months. Earlobes are generally considered to take about 3 months. You're healing a hole in your body with a foreign object inserted so it takes a while for it recover completely, especially to develop a strong fistula. The entire healing time is not necessarily going to be like the first week though.

I think my concern is that a crotch piercing that takes a long time to heal is going to be rough - I can't just clean it in the office bathroom mirror when I need to. I dunno. I definitely like the look and idea of it, I just need to really mull it over. Which is what I do with all my piercings anyway.

ackblom12:
Well, keep in mind you really shouldn't be cleaning a piercing more than once or twice a day anyways barring a crusty getting in there. Christ I hate when that happens.

nekowafer:
I seem to get crusties in my piercings a lot. I have to clean my bridge often - with just a q-tip and hot water - to get them out. Not as much these days, as it is almost healed, but when it was new I definitely had to.

I know that any piercing comes with pain, discomfort, and a healing period that will be no fun. I just have to decide if I'm okay with those things in that area of my body.

I think I'm just going to put it at the bottom of my list of wanted mods and think about it a while.

Seems like a perfectly fine idea. I actually imagine one of the biggest issues for most folks who get a Christina is re-learning how to shave the pubic mound.
