Drunk thread - now with added hangovers!

So ever since I moved to Colorado, people have been telling me that I'll get drunk faster due to the higher elevation. Turns out beer doesn't even make me bat an eyelash, but hard liquor...well...that's a whole different pickle.
Also, Maple-Finished Crown is fucking delicious.

A friend just got married and they registered for martini glasses and a cocktail shaker (among other things) so I wanted to get those plus a bottle of nice ... something. Gin, I guess, but I don't know if they actually like gin martinis. Any suggestions of gin brands or another liquor?

There was this chocolate cherry liqueur I wanted to try a while back but ended up picking something I knew I liked instead. It looked like it would be really good--maybe give something like it a shot? (Pun sort of intended?)
