Drunk thread - now with added hangovers!

See, y'all are throwing out the same arguments I have for the past several years, but it doesn't change that I enjoy it. It's enjoyable the way a Michael Bay movie is, not because it's good, it's not, but because it's fun. Any case, I don't need to justify something that I'm enjoying. Don't like it, you've made your point, and I can't argue with any of them, because you're not wrong. Still fun.

Either way, it's only 11AM, and I'm not drunk enough to do this. Tonight, things will be different. It's the last day of Summer, this is my last chance to run through the multiple 'summer ales' and 'summer pilsners.' I say multiple. I got one of each, Abita and Shiner. I also got vodka.

Tomorrow morning I have History class, to make up for what I forget about tonight's.

Near Lurker:
Hey - on the "added hangovers" front, I was thinking about premixing some baking soda to keep in my mini-fridge, so that I wouldn't have to deal with going to the shared kitchen for a measuring spoon (and maybe keeping a bottle in my car for heartburn), and I was wondering whether there was any reason not to do this?  Like, will it stop working after a while?

(Anyway, if we're on the topic of musicals, gonna plug the Zdunich movies again.  Hey, he told me to!)

Welu:
Last minute night out. Yay! Drunk.

Not drunk yet, but just want to give some context for what I might post on this thread later tonight: Tonight, I am going to, semi-willingly, attend the cast party for my school's production of Enemy of the People, which I sound designed. This is a production which has the lowest morale I've ever seen, pretty much everyone is in agreement that it's going very poorly. Actors have been at each other's throats throughout the entire process. There are a lot of freshmen involved.

Should be a fun? time. I mean we're theatre people, cast parties wouldn't be interesting without SOME drama. But in four years (six if you count high school) I have never actually seen a cast that hated each other and the show they're doing quite as much as this one.

94ssd:
Last night featured, among other things, two public meltdowns (as predicted), a hole punched (actually accidentally elbowed) into the wall, flickering lights due to the storm, and a frightening but fortunately brief and trouble-free visit from our friendly neighborhood lawmen (I've been in parties that were broken up by the cops before, but I don't think I EVER have seen a room get that quiet that quickly - there were a lot of freshmen at this one). I drank substandard beer (Hi-Wire IPA, not a good use of $10), took shots, danced (?!), lost at Smash, and played circle of death. So I mostly had a good time. But I did have a lowlight of saying a lot of anxiety-fueled, self-deprecating things to a crush. Something about how I feel like I'm a selfish asshole who is just trying to pretend not to be in order to fit in.
