Just checked Wikipedia, because that surprised me as well.

The surname of the child must be the surname of one of the parents. So if Mr Foo marries Ms Bar, the only way how their future child can be called Foo-Bar is if one of them decides to take the name Foo-Bar upon marriage.

I do have the app, but ideally I'd like a way to have both Wikipedia and the forum on my screen, because the law is rather confusing, and it gets more difficult if the parents aren't married.
