Zebediah:
I've known this was coming for a while because my son is a big Lego fan. Lego has made some entertaining videos and TV series, so this may turn out to be something other than a complete disaster.
I do know that I am very likely to see it on its opening weekend. My wife has already told me it's going to be a father-son outing. Meaning she isn't going. :-D
Kugai:
Guess I'll have to block this into my schedule.

Zebediah:
So my son and I saw this movie this afternoon, and it's better than it has any right to be. I mean, a movie about plastic bricks released in February, the traditional dumping ground for bad movies? But it's actually pretty good. Think Toy Story meets The Matrix and you'll be in the right ballpark.
(click to show/hide)But what it actually reminds me of are the stories my nine-year-old son tells when he is playing with his Legos: Amazing, wildly inventive mashups of every movie, TV show or story that my son knows. Because, in the end, that's exactly what it all turns out to be - a nine-year-old boy's playtime fantasy. But a totally brilliant one. So never mind that Batman shows up in the Old West and the Millenium Falcon randomly appears above a pirate ship - it doesn't need to make perfect sense.
