It's no big. When you come from a culture where nearly everybody is lactose-intolerant, traditional dietary habits are different. And if I go with friends to an ice-cream place, I simply order a "gelato", which, in Australia, means an Italian-style water-ice.

Method of Madness:
I'm curious, though, in a culture where nearly everybody is lactose-intolerant, do the few lactose tolerant people even know that they are? I mean, why would they even try eating dairy if there's only a 1 in 20 chance that it won't make them sick?
