That is so. But it was the obvious thing to do, and we have no indication that they did not.

It would be in character for the person with a social protocol database to make the effort. Marigold may have refused to listen.
Method of Madness:
Out of character for Momo to be so passive, though, especially so soon after convincing them to eat in the first place. Even if she didn't make Marbear stay, she should have stayed and waited for Dale so she could tell him they were leaving.
