Not actually the case, he's standing up for a bullied kid who is. Read about it here.

He's also, if memory serves, big on anti-bullying.

And there have been several high-profile cases of kids being bullied into suicide because of their Brony-ness. (I have no idea if that's how you'd spell it, but you get the drift.)
