 South America does the same. The "bags" are called Sachet.

I just realised there's an alternate universe out there where milk is made like we make tea.

In the Philippines, soda is sold in bags as well.

I see people saying it's more environmentally friendly, but I think milk cartons would be better for that, since the cartons are made from trees instead of petroleum?
