But they presumably have the Japanese audio and English subs as well?  Very few don't (in my collection, one very old DVD which is a straight copy from VHS, and one where the Japanese company enforced dub-only in their licence).  Presumably your player selects the English by default.

GarandMarine:
Subs vs. Dubs is a never ending battle. I watch a mix of both. There are some anime where the English dub is so atrocious I literally won't watch it except in Japanese. (Sailor Moon and Love Hina for some examples off the top of my head) Others have put as much effort and skill into their English voice cast as their Japanese voice cast and have a fantastic dub to show for it. (GITS, Hellsing Ultimate, Outlaw Star. Dragon Ball/DBZ) and every where else is middle ground. If I'm just vegging I'll probably watch the sub, if I'm painting or doing stuff in addition to watching the DVD or whatever I need a dub so I don't have to look up constantly. This goes for the more traditional foreign film I watch as well.

Re the strip: Ah! Marigold was so cute! and I want to work somewhere with sword fighting training!

Method of Madness:
Cowboy Bebop has to be mentioned for quality dubs (to the extent that as far as I know, even people who generally prefer subs will watch CB dubbed).

GarandMarine:
Yes CB's dub is excellent.

Wow I just had to look twice to see that this wasn't the anime thread.

Method of Madness:
There's an anime thread? I should check that out later.
