Unless SMiF has an ROTC program, the presence of a Marine would be unlikely, unless she's posted to Boston.

For a Marine, not likely except for recruiting post. For Air Force, it's not out of the question with Barnes and Westover Air Bases in Westfield and Chicope being within reasonable distance to Northampton

Just to be mean to Marten, how about a Marine on leave visiting her family? It would be like Padma, with the inevitable move away.
