pwhodges:
In this case it sounds as spelt with the extra letter; probably just how it sounds in the original dialect form.

My Shorter Oxford* dictionary gives the origin as "dialect & NZ".  So, New Zealanders, any further ideas?

Storel:

--- Quote from: Platypodes on 12 Nov 2013, 23:32 ---Dora started going out with Tai based on very tentative interest in someone she only knew as the "cute little redhead."
--- End quote ---

Her original description of Tai was "adorable little butch girl". But perhaps she used the phrase "cute little redhead" in another strip?

Perfectly Reasonable:
Ahem. So what was changed?
In 2550, Dora introduces the new employee as 'Dale'.
In 2575, Dale gets to introduce himself.
How does this fix anything?

Smallest:

I think his last bubble is more a response to "I'm your girlfriend" than an introduction. Just teasing her wording.
"I'm your girlfriend?"
"I'm Dale!"

Not:
"Remember Dale?"
-girlfling stuff-
"I'm Dale!"

I wasn't here before, but I'm assuming Dora originally said "this is my girlfriend, Tai" rather than "Remember my girlfriend Tai."

Aquaisces:
I took a screenshot, but I'm not really sure how to put the image into the discussion here. The original text read: "Dale, this is my girlfriend Tai."

I wish I knew how to make gifs so I could play the speech bubbles back-to-back. I had the original comic open in one tab and the new one open in another, and they look pretty awesome when I line up the images and click back and forth.
