JohnTheWysard:
Naming dogs? Yeah, that gets pretty domestic.

Naming cats is easier since cats usually don't care (unless of course you know the Cat's True Name, which of course you never will). Public names like Maxie and Fuzzy and Mousey Tongue and Edward R. Mrrow don't count of course.

HauntingPoem:
Barkspawn is my personal favorite.

I see what you did there...

Jimmy Sniff for a boy dog.
Joan Arfatrading for a girl dog.

Google says "Did you mean: Thomas Burkhalter?"

From his about page: "Dr. Thomas Burkhalter [*1973], an ethnomusicologist, music journalist and cultural producer from Bern (Switzerland), runs the research project «Global Niches – Music in a transnational World» at the Zurich University of the Arts. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of norient – Network for Local and Global Sounds and Media Culture. His first book «Local Music Scenes and Globalization: Transnational Platforms in Beirut» was published with Routledge (New York) in 2013. His co-edited book «The Arab Avant Garde: Musical Innovation in the Middle East» is going to be published with Wesleyan University Press in November 2013."

Given Tai's musical taste for weird European stuff (or something along those lines; I can't find that page right now), I'd say Google may have the right idea.  8-)
