Platypodes:
The dictionary definitions of polygyny and polyandry do refer specifically to marriage, tho.  A fair number of words mean something more specific than the sum of their parts.... Like homo = same, phobia = fear, and to literally get "fear of same-sex bangin'" the word would have to be homosexualphobia except that someone wisely decided not to pile up suffixes like that...  although polygamygyny would be a pretty fun word to say.

KOK:
Is polyandrooligogynogamy better than polygynooligoandrogamy?

Method of Madness:
No...and I'm pretty sure you can merge the double o into a single o.

Ha, I wasn't the only one who thought of that! You clearly have excellent taste in science fiction.

--- Quote from: RightInTheSquishyParts on 15 Nov 2013, 22:58 ---You mean there is at LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON who knows of these works?

Fantastic.

As do you.

Yes you do. Along with "A Planet named Shayol". "The Game of Rat and Dragon". "The Ballad of Lost C'Mell". "Norstrilia".

Sounds like you have the same "Best of Cordwainer Smith" paperback collection that I do.

--- Quote from: ZoeB on 17 Nov 2013, 00:48 ---Buy them in hard copy or e-book form though. Anything by Cordwainer Smith. You'll thank me.

I completely agree.

Cool!

KOK:
I have two volumes of Cordwainer Smith, The Rediscovery of Man and Norstrilia. According to Wikipedia, these contain all of his science fiction. I also have several unrelated collections of the best of science fiction containing Scaners Live in Vain.
